Two arrested in alleged 'love jihad' case in UP

The woman, a student of Central market coaching centre was allegedly brainwashed by the owner of the centre - Mohammed Amaan and a student, Aman. She was taken in confidence on the pretext of love and was called to the market on Tuesday, the woman's family alleged. She was then taken to Nizamuddin where the accused left her.

Two arrested in alleged 'love jihad' case in UP

Meerut: Despite Uttar Pradesh government's laws on 'love jihad' the number of cases on the issues keep on surfacing with a new one being reported from Nauchandi area where a woman was allegedly kidnapped and sent to Delhi's Nizamuddin area by two men of a particular religion. Following the case coming to light, Hindu organisations started an agitation in front of the police station.

The woman, a student of Central market coaching centre was allegedly brainwashed by the owner of the centre - Mohammed Amaan and a student, Aman together. She was taken in confidence on the pretext of love and was called to the market on Tuesday, the woman's family alleged.

She was then taken to Nizamuddin where the accused left her.

When the woman didn't come back till late evening, the family started searching for her and eventually lodged a complaint at the Nauchandi police station.

The police took out the CDR of the student's mobile where the mobile numbers of Mohammad Amaan and Aman were found.

When the Hindu organizations came to know about the love jihad with the student, a large number of officials and workers reached the police station surrounding the area and shouting slogans. They demanded strict action against the culprit.

During the investigation, both the accused were arrested where they revealed that the woman is kept in Delhi.

A police team has been sent to Delhi for the girl's recovery.

SP City Akhilesh Narayan Singh said that a case has been registered against the two arrested accused. The accused have confessed their crime and a team has been sent to Delhi to recover the girl.
