Rampur: After an order passed by the Sessions Court, Rampur district administration, on Thursday issued a notice to Azam Khan directing him to remove the main gate of the Jauhar University. The district administration has started the legal process to implement the court's order following which police have pasted a notice outside the residence of the Chancellor of the University and Samajwadi Party MP from Rampur Azam Khan in his absence.
The notice has given 15 days to the President of Jauhar Trust to remove the gate of the University. Notably, BJP leader Akash Saxena filed a complaint about the main gate of Azam Khan's Jauhar University in 2019 citing that it was set up on government land and the passage made through this gate was made by the PWD.

The Deputy District Magistrate, justifying the BJP leader's complaint, ordered the gate to be demolished but Khan appealed to the District Judge who also rejected his plea upholding the order of the Deputy District Magistrate. The matter of demolition of the main gate of Jauhar University remained pending in the Sessions court for almost two years.
