Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): The holy city of Ayodhya has been put on high alert on Saturday after security agencies received an intelligence input of a possible terror attack.
According to top security officials, the intel warns that terrorists are likely to enter Uttar Pradesh from Nepal.
All incoming trains and buses are being searched, hotels, lodges and guest houses have also been put under the scanner.
Besides, security has been beefed up before the verdict in the 2005 Ram Janmabhoomi terror attack, which is to be delivered on June 18.
Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray is also scheduled to visit Ayodhya with his 18 MPs on June 16, ahead of the verdict.
It may be recalled that on June 5, 2005, a terror attack was foiled in Ayodhya and five militants had been gunned down. Four Kashmiri militants were arrested in the case.
