Ayodhya: Ahead of the 'Bhoomi Pujan' ritual, Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has limited the number of people attending the ritual in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said that Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan will be broadcasted live on Doordarshan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ayodhya in the first week of August. He will inaugurate the Bhoomi Pujan of the Ram Temple.
Champat Rai has appealed people not to come to Ayodhya amid the global pandemic. He urged people to celebrate the occasion by staying at homes, and offer prayers at nearby temples in the evening.
"I request the people of the country to keep the concerns of COVID-19 and transportation in mind and give up the idea of coming to Ayodhya. Stay home and celebrate the occasion, and offer prayers at nearby temples in the evening," Rai said.
"This will be the historical event for independent India," he added.
Veteran BJP leaders LK Advani, MM Joshi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat are among those who have been invited to the 'Bhoomi pujan' ceremony on August 5.
