Karimganj: The Railway Police seized narcotics worth Rs 1.5 crore from the Silchar-Agartala passenger train on Thursday. They also arrested two women from Tripura in connection with the case.
Acting on a tip-off, the Railway police initiated a search operation as soon as the said train reached Dharmanagar railway station on Thursday.
They uncovered a huge amount of ecstasy pills from the two women, who were carrying the drug to Agartala.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
