Surat: The word 'kulfi' usually conjures up the image of a cone-shaped frozen dairy dessert, loved by young and old alike. However, Vivek Ajmera, who owns an ice cream parlour in Surat - Gujarat, chose to do away with the traditional shape and modelled the Indian ice cream after Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi.
Ever since the stellar win in the recent 2019 General Elections, Modi has become the most talked about topics across the country. While his followers have displayed their support through various acts, right from offering free auto-rickshaw rides to 101 kg laddoo, Ajmera introduced - 'Modi Sitafal Kulfi'.
One interesting fact about this special kulfi is that it is completely handmade and it took the workers more than 24 hours to make 200 kulfis, featuring Modi's face on it.
Ajmera further said that the kulfis were made with 100 per cent natural ingredients and remarked that the city has been liking the new flavour.
"The kulfi is also being sold at a 50 per cent discount to celebrate Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory in Lok Sabha elections," he added.
The special kulfi will be served at the parlour only till May 30, the date when Modi's swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place.
