Hyderabad: Several parts of Hyderabad suffered flood-like situations following incessant rains since Wednesday night. Most of the residential colonies faced water-logging and inundation after heavy rains battered the district. People residing in low-lying areas were forced to spent sleepless nights as intense showers of rains lashed the city. According to a weather report, the southwest monsoon is turning vigorous under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation.

Nearly 40 areas in Hyderabad recorded 10 to 20 cm rainfall during the last 24 hours, it added. Floodwater gushed into houses in some colonies near Saroor Nagar pond. Kodandaram Nagar and Seesala Basti colonies in Gaddi Annaram division, Tapovan colony in Lingoji Guda division, Sainagar and Green Park colonies were submerged due to rainwater.
