Cop accidentally shoots self in Jodhpur

Constable Ashok Bishnoi accidentally shot himself while he was cleaning his gun in Jodhpur. The constable died while undergoing treatment at Mathuradas Mathur hospital.

Jodhpur: A constable of Rural Police Bilada police station accidentally shot himself on Tuesday while he was cleaning his gun.

Ashok Bishnoi, was cleaning his gun when suddenly a bullet got fired which hit his head.

The constable died while undergoing treatment at Mathuradas Mathur hospital.

On Tuesday, when the police team went to take action against the illegal Doda Post on behalf of the rural Bilada police station of the district, the vehicle got punctured. While the tyre was getting replaced, Constable Ashok Bishnoi was cleaning his gun.

However, suddenly a bullet was fired and went into the head.

Rural SP Rahul Bahirath said: "The Rural Bilada Police station had gone to take action against illegal drug smuggling. The incident took place while they were returning from Bilada."

Jaitaran DSP Suresh Kumar and Raipur police station in-charge reached the spot immediately after getting the information.
