Actor Rajinikanth to travel to US on Saturday

Actor Rajinikanth is set to fly to the United States for a medical check-up on a special flight on June 19.

Chennai: Actor Rajinikanth is set to fly to the United States for a medical check-up on a special flight on June 19. He suffered a major health issue some years ago and was admitted to a popular hospital in Singapore, where he underwent treatment for more than a couple of months.

Following this, Rajinikanth regularly visits the United States once a year for a medical check-up. Rajinikanth's son-in-law and actor Dhanush is also in the US with his wife and sons. He is shooting for a Hollywood film there. As pandemic travel restrictions are in place, Rajinikanth had earlier requested the Central Government to permit him to travel to the US.

Veteran actor Rajinikanth was admitted to Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, which is considered one of the best hospitals in Asia. The actor also underwent a kidney transplant in a hospital in the United States of America.

He revealed this information, citing his change of heart on entering politics in 2020. The superstar cited the doctor's advice and his health concerns, especially his kidney transplant in 2016 and the Covid situation as the main reason for postponing his entry into politics. The veteran actor also announced that he will enter the political fray when his health permits.
