Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu): A special flight carrying 177 Indians from Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur reached Tamil Nadu's Tiruchirappalli under the 'Vande Bharat Mission' on Saturday.
The special non-scheduled rescue flight IX – 0681 departed from Malaysia and landed at the Tiruchi International Airport by 10:20 pm.
Passengers were screened and tested at the airport, they were then taken to quarantine centers.
The district administration will bear the cost of the facilities at the quarantine facility, while the stay at the hotel will have to be paid for by the passengers.
The government’s Vande Bharat Mission is an effort to repatriate home Indian nationals stranded in various countries following the COVID-19 pandemic.
