Madras HC allows Rajagopal to move to pvt hospital for treatment

The Madras High Court on Tuesday accorded permission to shift the founder of Saravana Bhavan chain of restaurants, P Rajagopal, from Stanley Government hospital to a private hospital after the hotelier suffered a heart attack.

Madras HC allows Rajagopal to move to pvt hospital for treatment

Chennai: The Madras high court on Tuesday agreed to shift P Rajgopala founder of famous food chain Saravana Bhavan to private hospital citing health reasons.

A petition was filed in the high court by Saravana Bhavan owner's lawyer to move Rajagopal, who has been given a life sentence in a decades-old murder case, back to the private hospital where he was receiving treatment before his surrender last week.

Rajagopal has been convicted in a murder case of Prince Santhakumar in 2001 who surrendered on July 7.The motive for the killing was to marry Santhakumar’s wife Jeevajothi, who was the daughter of a former employee. The plot was that an astrologer advised Rajagopal that if he marries Jeevajothi he will own more wealth.

In this scenario, Rajagopal's health condition was worsened and he was admitted in Stanely Hospital, Chennai. Followed by this, his son filed a petition in HC stationg that Stanly hospital changed his dad's medicines and he suffered cardiac arrest to move for treatment in Private Hospital.

Now, HC allowed Rajagopal to move for treatment in Private Hospital.
