Chennai: Srinidhi Chidambaram, the daughter-in-law of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram of the Congress party, hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party for posting her picture and dance video on Twitter with the caption 'lotus will bloom in the state'.
Ms Chidambaram said, “It was absurd that my photo was used for the BJP's election campaign." Further, she stated that lotus will never bloom in Tamil Nadu.
The Twitter post was deleted later.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee also slammed the BJP tweeting, "Dear BJP4TamilNadu, we understand 'consent' is a difficult concept for you to understand, but you cannot use Srinidhi Karti Chidambaram's image without her permission. All you have done is prove that your campaign is full of lies and propaganda."

The video clip featured Srinidhi's dance which had originally appeared in 'semmozhi song' written by former Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader M Karunanidhi and the music composed by AR Rehman 10 years ago.
