Thanjavur: A heartwarming ceremony took place at Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur district, wherein a Japanese woman married a Tamil man as per Tamil rituals and customs on Sunday.
The bride, Megumi is an advocate in Japan and the groom, Vasanthan is a scientist, who hails from Kumbakonam area of the district.
Vasantham was in Japan for more than 7 years and he met Megumi through Facebook. Gradually with the passing years, their friendship bloomed into a relationship leading to marriage.
When they approached their parents, they happily agreed.
Although the bride's parents could not be a part of the wedding ceremony, her maternal uncle was attended the wedding on their behalf.
Ditching their traditional wedding attires, the relatives of the bride adorned dhoti and saree.
With blessings from parents, relatives, friends Vasantham tied three knots (Thali) to Meguri in a traditional Tamil way.
