Jaipur: A local court sent an accused arrested on espionage charges in Barmer to police remand till November 2.
It is alleged that the accused, Roshandin, was sending sensitive intelligence inputs about the strategic importance associated with the border area and military activities to the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI through social media.
Intelligence and security agencies took him into custody in Barmer district, after which he was taken to Jaipur.
On receiving the input, the spy was constantly being monitored closely by Rajasthan ATS and Intelligence agency. He was arrested after the interrogation by Special CID Branch.
The accused's mobile phone has been seized, which contains the full details of his conversation with the member of the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
Pakistani spy Roshandin was detained from Barmer in a joint operation by the Intelligence agency and Rajasthan Anti Terror Squad.
The case has been registered under the Official Secret Act 1923.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he has sent confidential information related to the border area and Army through WhatsApp to the ISI agent.
Money was provided to him in lieu of sending confidential information to Pakistan. To know the further details about the incident the accused will be taken to Barmer.
During the interrogation, the accused's revealed some other names and links of Pakistani spies. The accused has also some close connections with other Pakistani spies arrested earlier by Intelligence agency.
Further investigation is underway.
