Jaisalmer(Rajasthan): Three Dalit men were beaten by a mob over suspicion of stealing cattle from Rama village in Fatehgarh subdivision here.
The incident took place on February 15 when the villagers noticed the three men planning to steal the cattle. They caught hold of the three men before their plan could be executed and beat them.
Police authorities acted in the matter only after a video of the thrashing went viral on social media.
They later arrested the three men under section 151. They were, however, granted bail the next day.
Also, head of ST/SC cell Mukesh Chopra reached the village after the arrest for further investigation in the matter.
It was after this visit that police personnel arrested another man involved in beating the Dalit men.
Reportedly, this is the third incident in the region in recent days.
