Bharatpur: Rajasthan police have taken a minor into custody after he took responsibility for the firing at the residence of MP Ranjeeta Koli in Bayana. On Sunday, the minor called the police control room and took the responsibility of firing at the MP's house.
Banya CO Ajay Sharma said, "On Sunday, a minor from Ujjain area has called the control room and took the responsibility for the firing at the residence of MP Ranjeeta Koli and also for pasting a threatening letter along with live cartridges. On getting information, police reached the spot and took the minor into custody,"
"It seems that the mental condition of the minor is not stable and prima facie there is no truth in his words. However, the minor is being questioned," he added.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the Rajasthan government has constituted SOG and SIT teams to investigate the matter. Along with this, ADG Sunil Dutt had also visited Bharatpur to meet police officers and took the stock of the situation.
Earlier on Tuesday midnight, armed miscreants opened fire at the residence of MP Ranjeeta Koli in Bayana. During the attack, the MP fainted. Police reached the spot and admitted unconscious MP Ranjeeta Koli to the Government Hospital in Bayana.
