New Delhi: Twenty Nine Punjab farmer bodies protesting against farm laws reached Delhi for talks at Vigyan Bhawan today.

Punjab Congress MPs met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal a few days ago after which they assured that trains would be started soon and farmers would be called for talks.

Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare sent the invite to farmers' organizations for talks with Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

The farmers, who have been demanding that these new laws be repealed, expressed apprehension that they would pave a way for the dismantling of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system, which could create problems for them in future.

They had resorted to a 'rail roko' agitation and staged sit-ins outside some shopping malls, toll plazas and outside residences of BJP leaders.

The train services in Punjab have been suspended since September 24, when farmers started their "rail roko" agitation against the central laws.
