Angul: In a bizarre incident, a woman, reportedly barged into the Pallahara MLA’s residence at Balipasi village in Angul district with a marriage proposal.
The woman, a law student, identified as a resident of Mayurbhanj district, reached the house of BJD MLA from Pallahara, Mukesh Kumar Pal in Balipasi village. Identifying herself as a friend of Pal, she entered the legislator’s house.
Later, she told Pal's family members that he had promised to marry her three months ago. She threatened to ruin his political career and told that she would stay put in his house unless the MLA marries her.
When the woman refused to leave his residence, the MLA called Pallahara police over phone.
A team of cops reached his house and took the woman to the police station. The police later dropped her in Keonjhar after interrogation.
