Mumbai (Maharashtra): A woman was allegedly killed in Maharashtra's Vasai by her mother-in-law who hit the former with a flowerpot in her head following a fight.
After the incident took place, the accused Anandi Mane herself informed the police, said Rajendra Kamble the senior police inspector, Manikpur Police Station.
Riya Mane, a resident at ISKCON building in Vasai West, got married to the accused Anandi Mane's son Rohan six years ago, said Kamble.
Rohan Mane who is working in the United States had returned to India with his family fifteen days ago.

They have a six-month-old daughter, Kamble added.
Anandi Mane had a bitter relationship with Riya as the former alleged that Riya took her son away from her.
Following this issue, a quarrel took place two days before the incident, said Kamble.
According to police, Anandi had attempted the crime while her son and husband went to the morning walk.
Meanwhile, the police had come to the spot to recover the body and took the accused under custody.
