Panaji: BJP's Pramod Pandurang Sawant on Tuesday took oath as the new chief minister of Goa in a ceremony conducted at 2 am at the Raj Bhavan.

"Two MLAs from the BJP alliance partners will be made deputy chief ministers as part of the compromise reached with allies," sources said.
The BJP managed to break the deadlock in Goa, offering key allies their pound of flesh, by accepting their demand for deputy CM's posts.
Sawant was the Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly.
11 leaders, including Sudin Dhavalikar of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Vijai Sardesai of Goa Forward Party, also took oath at the Raj Bhavan as cabinet ministers.
