PM Modi mops temple floor in Nashik, plays cymbals during Ram Bhajans; video goes viral

Prime Minister Modi took part in Swachchata Abhiyan programmed during his to the historic Shree Kalaram Mandir in Nashik where he took a mop and bucket of water and cleaned the temple floors. He listened to the Hindi version of the epic recitation session of the 'Ramayana' through AI translation.

Nashik (Maharashtra): During his today's visit to Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at Shree Kalaram Mandir in Nashik on Friday. PM Modi took part in the bhajans and played cymbals and also mopped the temple floor during a Swachchata Abhiyan programme held on the occasion.

PM Modi, who spoke on the occasion, urged the devotees and citizens to come forward and take up similar cleanliness drives at all the temples across the country. During the temple visit, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.

PM Modi took part in the Ram Bhajans sung by the devotees and artists when he also played the musical instrument - cymbals. He took part in the puja ceremonies and also listened to the Marathi recitation of the epic narrative of the 'Ramayana' in Hindi through AI translation. The 'Yudh Kanda' section of the epic depicting Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya was recited on the occasion.

PM Modi garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda in Nashik on his birth anniversary. Among the places associated with the Ramayana, Panchavati occupies a special place, as several important events of the Ramayana took place here. Shree Kalaram Mandir is located on the banks of the Godavari river in Nashik.

PM Modi's visit to the Nashik temple comes days ahead of the historic Ram Lalla consecration in Ayodhya on January 22.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared a video of PM Modi cleaning the floor of the temple and taking part in the Swachchata Abhiyan on the occasion. In a post on X, Fadnavis said: "Hon PM Modi Ji took part in Swachhata Abhiyan today at the Kalaram Mandir in Nashik. He had also appealed everyone to carry out swachhata activities at temples across the country."

During his current visit to Maharashtra, PM Modi is set to inaugurate the Atal Setu between Sewri in Mumbai and Nhava on Pune side which was developed at a cost of about Rs 17,840 crore.
