Maharashtra Minister slams Pawar over comments on Rahul Gandhi

Senior Congress leader and Maharashtra minister Yashomati Thakur has slammed Sharad Pawar for his comments on Rahul Gandhi. The Maharashtra Congress executive president warned the party's coalition allies, to stop commenting on top leaders of Congress if they wanted the government to remain stable.

Mumbai: State women and child development minister Yashomati Thakur today advised allies that if they want a stable government, they should stop commenting on top leaders of Congress party. She was referring to NCP president Sharad Pawar’s comment on Rahul Gandhi in a recent interview in which he had said that Rahul Gandhi’s leadership lacks consistency.

What Yashomati Thakur said:

I have read some interviews and articles on MVA leaders. As an executive president of the Maharashtra Congress, I want to tell our allies that, if they want a stable government, they should avoid commenting on top leaders of Congress. Everybody should follow the basic rules of the coalition, she said in the tweet. Congress leadership is very stable and able to take firm decisions. The MVA government in the state is the result of its decisiveness.

Her statement has created instability in the Aghadi.

What Sharad Pawar said:

NCP president Sharad Pawar had said Rahul Gandhi lacks consistency for leading the country. He was answering a question in a ceremony in Pune. But, he avoided the answer to a question on Barak Obama’s opinion about Rahul Gandhi.

Bickering in MVA

Earlier too, internal bickering in MVA had come to the fore. Shivsena leader Sanjay Raut had been in trouble and later apologized for his statement about Indira Gandhi.

Congress had also complained about not getting proper treatment in the government. The ministers of state had also complained about not getting enough rights. News was making rounds that, in the legislative council election, the chief minister had threatened to resign.
