Jabalpur: Students of the Chhapra Primary School of Bargi constituency in Jabalpur district were found cleaning school toilets. School teacher Sarika Batre is allegedly responsible for forcing the students to clean toilets.
The students said they were often asked to clean the toilets.
It is a regular practice in the school as a part of the Swachhta Abhiyan.
Such practices in the school have also invited severe criticisms as at a time when primary education is in dire straits, students being forced to clean toilets is unfortunate.
When asked from the District Project Officer about the matter, he said these activities are conducted several times to spread awareness about cleanliness and hygiene among the students, however, school teachers also take active participation in it.
