Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh): Poonam Meshram has decided to drive her father's auto to bring back his father's livelihood that had stalled during the lockdown. Poonam is an expert in driving autos. She is the first women auto driver in Balaghat, MP.
Poonam Meshram, a resident of village Hatta, about 15 km from the district, is helping her father by driving an auto. Poonam said that due to the lockdown, the financial condition of the house had become very bad and the only earner was her father. So to improve their financial condition and to reduce the burden on her father, she drives the auto.

Poonam's father works as an auto driver in Balaghat. Poonam has 5 sisters. She has also started helping her father to support the family. Poonam has studied up to class 12th and is also learning computers. Every day she ferries people in her auto between Linga to Hatta and sometimes to Balaghat.

Poonam is the first woman auto driver of the Balaghat district. Poonam's father says that she works part-time to drive an auto. Along with studies, Poonam is also bearing the expenses of her five sisters.
