Jabalpur: Dog owners in Jabalpur city of Madhya Pradesh may now have to pay an on-the-spot fine if their pets are found dirtying public places.
The Jabalpur Municipal corporation in its recently issued order said, that the dog owners should have to keep in mind that their dogs do not litter the road and if it does, it is the owners' responsibility to clean it. The citizens whose pets are found pooping in public might have to shell out Rs 1,000.
The order of the Municipal Corporation has however left the people wandering. There is also resentment among the people.
"The whole city is littered with filth, people are upset due to stray dogs and pigs, instead of fixing these arrangements, the Municipal Corporation is issuing strange decrees," said local resident.

In this order issued by Municipal Commissioner Sandeep G R, some guidelines have also been given for dog owners, such as if a dog owner has to walk his dog in public places, he should keep a doop scooper, poop bag and a waste scoop, so that if the dog makes a mess in a public place, then the owner cleans it immediately.
