Shahdol: After suffering 13 years of torture in Pakistan jail, Ravendra Gupta alias Raju returned home on January 4 but with a memory loss.
He is not able to recognize the relatives and acquaintances who are coming to meet him as he was given third-degree torture, claimed his family.
Gupta, a resident of Bareilly village in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district, was wandering in Mumbai and Gujarat in search of a job in 2007 and since then he was missing.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, his younger brother, Satish Gupta said that nobody knows how he ended up going to Pakistan.
"So many years after he went missing, we came to know that he is lodged in Pakistan jail. After making so much of efforts by us and administration, he was released a few days back," he said.
Satish further said that due to torture meted to his brother in the jail he has lost his memory and unable to recognise anybody in the family.
Notably, Gupta was given a warm reception by the local police officials when he reached home on January 4.
