Morena (Madhya Pradesh): Sabalgarh Congress MLA Baijnath Kushwaha and six of his family members have been booked in a six-year-old alleged murder case following a sessions court order. Kushwah is an MLA from Morena’s Sabalgarh constituency.
The victim, Angoori Kushwaha, wife of Harisingh Kushwaha, younger brother of Baijnath Kushwaha, was found dead in a field on December 10, 2015, following which Angoori's brother Gorelal Kushwaha had filed a case in the Sabalgarh court. Gorelal had accused the MLA and his family of murdering his sister on suspicion of infidelity. It was also alleged that the accused threw the body of Angoori in a well after the murder.
Taking cognizance on the basis of the statements of the deceased's son and brother, First Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Kumar Goel issued arrest warrants against seven people including Congress MLA Baijnath. The court also ordered the Kailaras police station to present all the accused in the court on October 8.
The court also raised concern over police investigation after it was informed that Anguri’s son Kunal alias Gole was a key witness to the murder. However, his statement was not taken into account and the statement was recorded two months after the alleged murder.
