Thrissur: The district administration has imposed more regulations and tightened curbs in Thrissur district of Kerala after 21 persons test positive for COVID-19 through contact, in the past two days. A temporary ban was also imposed on the devotees at Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in Thrissur district as part of the revised curbs.
Marriages scheduled for Saturday at the precincts of Guruvayur temple would be allowed. However, considering the current scenario of an increased number of cases through contact, the administration has decided to temporarily ban the entry of devotees to the Temple until further notice. After the reopening of temples on June 8, entry for devotees was being allowed and regulated through the virtual queue system.
