Kasargod: The Neeleswaram police on Friday arrested one more person in connection with the rape case of a minor girl in Kerala's Kasargod.
The accused Sherif, a native of Kanhangad allegedly took the 16-year-old girl to Madikeri in Karnataka and sexually abused her.
Earlier, on Monday the police had arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing the victim, who is said to be his daughter.
As per reports, the police have so far booked six youths for sexually abusing the girl and arrested four of them including the victim’s father. Police are on the lookout for two more persons involved in the case.
The incident came to light when she became pregnant and subjected to abortion. On knowing about this incident, her maternal uncles lodged a complaint with the police. The probe team has found out that the girl was being sexually abused for continuously two years.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
