Thrissur: A pair of surgical scissors were found in the abdomen of a man who had undergone surgery two months back.
Joseph Paul, a native of Koorkenchery in Thrissur had undergone a pancreatic surgery at Thrissur Medical College and hospital on April 25.
Over two weeks later, he was reoperated on by the same team of doctors led by Dr Pauly Joseph following a problem witnessed in the ultra-sound scan.
However, the pain from Paul's surgery did not subside even after two months of the surgery. It was then that he consulted a doctor at a private hospital.

Further diagnosis revealed that there was a pair of scissors in his abdomen, probably left during the previous surgery, thus revealing medical negligence by the doctors at Thrissur medical college.
The scissors that caused a tremendous amount of pain to Paul were removed in another surgery held last week.
A complaint has been filed by Joseph's family before state CM and health minister. Based on the complaint, police have registered a case and an investigation in the matter is underway.
