Thiruvananthapuram: Devotees will not be allowed in Sree Padmanabha Swami temple till October 15. The restrictions are imposed as 12 employees including the main priest tested COVID-19 positive. V Ratheesan, executive officer of the temple, said that the arrangements for daily donations will be done by other staff. Earlier, COVID-19 had infected several people, including security personnel.
"35 persons will be allowed inside the temple at a time and a total number of devotees will be restricted to 665 in a day," according to the authorities when the temple was reopened for visitors from August 27. But after several staff members tested positive for COVID-19, the temple authority had decided to close the temple for a few more days.
