Mysuru (Karnataka): A video of an aggravated elephant chasing away forest officials in Nagarahole reserve Forest is going viral. The officials were on patrolling duty when the incident happened.
Recently, the forest officials have gone to Nagarahole forest for patrolling when they encountered the pachyderm. The animal appeared behind their vehicle trumpeting loudly which alerted the officials.
The driver of the vehicle taking note of the elephant quickly drove away to safety before the jumbo reached the vehicle. The animal was hardly 100 meters away and it was a miraculous escape for the forest team.
The presence of mind of the driver and the sheer luck of the patrolling party prevented any major mishap.
It can be noted S Manikandan who was the conservator of forests was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Nagarahole forest in March 2018. The senior official along with the team has gone to the forest to assess the fire damage when the incident happened. While his team members escaped the conservator was trampled to death.
