Karnataka: Congress leader DK Shivakumar who was released on bail from Tihar Jail in a money laundering case, received a grand welcome by his party workers in Mysuru on Thursday.
Shivakumar travelled by Shatabdi Express to Mysuru and was welcomed by hundreds of Congress workers and supporters with flowers, crackers and a large apple garland.
Several party workers gathered at the railway station and shouted slogans praising DK Shivakumar. His fans had brought in musicians to celebrate his arrival. Musicians thumped at their drums, while party workers danced to the tunes.

A huge 20 ft apple garland weighing approx 100 kilos was also brought in with a crane to hold it up on Shivakumar's arrival.
Shivakumar is scheduled to visit various temples and mutts during his visit to the city.
The visit could also hint at him seeking blessings for good health as he was admitted to a hospital on November 1 following high blood pressure and variations in sugar level.
These grand gestures for DK Shivakumar are not new. He has for long been glorified in Karnataka for his role of being the party's troubleshooter.
Shivakumar was released from Tihar Jail on October 23 after Delhi High Court granted him bail in a money laundering case.
