Hoax Bomb call at Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru

Bengaluru (Karnataka): While the case relating to email bomb threats to Bengaluru schools is still under investigation, another bomb threat incident has taken place. This time, an unknown person told the National Investigation Agency (NIA) control room over the phone that a bomb had been planted in the Raj Bhavan. A bomb squad was sent in right away to investigate the area exhaustively, but they found no signs of explosives.

Later, the Karnataka Police confirmed it to be a hoax call. "We'll lodge an FIR. We got a call yesterday at midnight from an unknown number to our control room saying they've kept a bomb in Raj Bhavan. We will conduct another search today," police said in their statement.

Anonymized emails containing bomb threats were sent to more than fifteen schools in Bengaluru on December 1st, sparking fear among kids, parents, and school administrators.

Initially, seven schools, including Napel and Vidyashilpa in Basaveshwar Nagar, were threatened. One of the targeted schools is located opposite DK Shivakumar, the deputy chief minister's residence. Students, parents, and school administrators were alarmed and frightened by the situation.

The latest bomb threat to Karnataka Raj Bhavan raises further questions and emphasises the necessity of conducting in-depth investigations and stepping up security in the area.
