Bengaluru: Police in Bengaluru were successful in arresting the accused in the rape and murder of a girl. The incident took place in the Byadarahalli Police Station range.
The girl, who had come to study in Bangalore from another state, had taken admission in a private college. She had come to the city to pay an instalment of the pending college fees.
The victim came to the city and contacted the accused, a friend. The accused asked her to come to his room in Vijayanagar where he raped and murdered her.

The accused later took her to a private hospital claiming that she was his friend and she had lost consciousness. The hospital staff did not buy his story and filed a case in Byadarahalli police station.
Byadarahalli police took accused in custody and are investigating the case.
