Later, the Bengaluru police filed a sedition case against Amulya for indulging in anti-national activities and instigating friends to stage protest rallies and demos against the BJP government in the state and the Centre.

Submitting Amulya's antecedents as an evidence of her involvement in anti-national activities, the prosecutor told the court as a habitual offender, the accused was prone to indulge in provocative speeches, causing disharmony in society and disturb peace.

However, Amulya had moved the bail application in the high court in March after a lower court remanded her to the judicial custody.
