Bengaluru: Bhaskar Rao appointed as ADGP and Commissioner of Police

Bhaskar Rao was appointed as the Additional General of Police (ADGP) and Commissioner of Bengaluru city Police on Friday. The Karnataka government also transferred other officials of Karnataka State Reserve Police, Bengaluru.

Bengaluru: In a major reshuffle of IPS officers in Karnataka, Bhaskar Rao has been appointed as the Additional General of Police (ADGP) and Commissioner of Bengaluru city Police here on Friday.

"Bhaskar Rao, Karnataka cadre IPS officer of batch 1990, is transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as ADGP and Commissioner of Police," read the order.

The Karnataka government also transferred Bengaluru City Police Commissioner and Additional Director General of Police Alok Kumar and posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Karnataka State Reserve Police, Bengaluru.

Bengaluru: Bhaskar Rao has been appointed as new Police Commissioner, by the new government of Karnataka.

Incumbent police commissioner Alok Kumar has been transferred to Karnataka state Reserve Police Corporation as ADGP. Incoming police commissioner Bhaskar Rao what's serving as ADGP for Karnataka State Reserve Police.

Alok Kumar was appointed by the last coalition government in Karnataka as police commissioner. Alok Kumar appointment as police commissioner was disheartening to the senior Police officers who were in the line to become police commissioner. After today's notification of the new appointment of police commissioner has brought smiles in the faces of Senior Police offices in the state.

Transfer orders for 6 Senior Police officers was also stated in the same notification. Soon after Yeddyurappa took charge as chief minister government had ordered transfers of 11 Senior Police officers.
