Mysuru (Karnataka): Barber Mallikarjuna Shetty of Hallare in Nanjangud Taluk has alleged that he and his family are facing a social boycott from fellow villagers after he cut the hair of a Scheduled Caste man. The village elders have also imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000 on him making his situation unbearable.
As per a government order, Shetty has been cutting everybody's hair. He alleges that Chennanayaka and his associates, being the leaders of the village are discriminating against him and his family and have also fined him for cutting SCs' hair.
His family is facing social exclusion. Stuck in an unbearable situation, Shetty complained to the Tahsildar about his plight. He says he will commit suicide unless social exclusion ends in his village.
Nanjangud Tahsildar Mahesh Kumar has written a letter to the police and requested them to take action against the villagers.
