Betul: A group of people held and thrashed a "mentally disturbed" man after he apparently molested a woman at Bagdona in Jharkhand's Betul on Monday.
The man, identified as Chhotu, works as a cattle-grazer at a Dilip Singh's livestock firm in Bazar Chowk.
On Sunday, Chhotu had taken the cattle for grazing to the forests when there were women present there at that time.
Meanwhile, a rumour did rounds that Chhotu had gone there to molest women. Following this, Chhotu was beaten up by a mob and held in their custody.
His hands and legs were tied with a rope, while a group of people surrounded him.
The matter was taken to the police, wherein they identified the man. However, no case was registered or medical examination conducted on him.
