Jammu: Gupkaar Alliance spokesperson Mohd Yousuf Tarigami flayed the Jammu Kashmir administration's dismissal of six government employees under the recently amended Article 311. “Contrary to the Centre's tall claims of getting investment to create employment, they are deliberately laying off government employees despite knowing that people in Jammu & Kashmir rely on government jobs for their livelihood,” he said.
"Hounding Kashmiris endlessly deflates the Centre’s fake narrative that all is well in J&K,” he said, adding that “links to militants is the new excuse used to humiliate Kashmiris." Tarigami termed the dismissals as orders that “smack of injustice and vengeance."
“The action should not be seen in isolation. Such terminations are part of a larger design to purge people of J&K from the government services to achieve the much-anticipated extinction of locals from the administration,” he said.
He added such measures had weaned off scores of families from their humble source of income. “It is not an individual, who is at the receiving end. It’s the scores of families, who have borne the brunt of this reckless decision.”

The BJP government had claimed that Article 370 was an impediment to J&K’s development and its abrogation will bring investment, jobs and prosperity to the region. The reality is different on the ground from what was being said by the government. Those who were already in employment are systematically being retrenched.
Recently, 918 helpers to supervisors in ICDS scheme of the Social Welfare department were disengaged without any genuine reasons. "I appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Arun Mehta to look into these issues and ask the department concerned to review these decisions.
