New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will soon send a team to Jammu & Kashmir to review the security scenario in the region ahead of the forthcoming meeting of the tourism working group of G20, which is scheduled to be held from May 22 to 24. The team will comprise anti-drone experts and senior officials from the intelligence bureau (IB)," a senior official in the Home Ministry privy to the development told ETV Bharat on Monday. Stating that the Home Ministry has recently formulated a new security plan, the official said, "All security agencies are working in tandem for the success of the much-hyped summit."
It is worth mentioning that ETV Bharat last month reported about Home Ministry's strategy to install anti-drone technology to avert all sabotage attempts by the anti-India forces. The decision to send high-tech team with anti-drone technology was taken during a meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah last month. The official said that during their visit to the Valley, the team from Delhi will make a thorough discussion of the security arrangements being put in place.

"The Central team will interact with all State security agencies, Central security agencies besides visiting the venue of the G20 summit," the official informed. Another official from the security establishment told this correspondent that the threat of vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) looms large in the Valley.
"The Pakistan-based terrorist organisations with the active support from over-ground workers (OGW) in Kashmir, are making all efforts to ensure intrusion of terrorists from the across the border," the official said. As we have tightened security, they are exploring all possible ways to create sabotage in Kashmir, including the use of VBIED, the official said. During the G20 summit, the delegates will be taken to the tourist hotspots in and around Srinagar.
