Ambala: Ahead of Haryana municipal bodies election, Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Jal Shakti Rattan Lal Kataria as the star campaigner and he reached Ambala on Saturday to campaign for mayor candidate Dr Vandana Sharma.
In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Union minister Kataria said that they (JJP and BJP) would contest the elections on the plank of development.
"We are campaigning in every place of Ambala regarding the civic elections. We are getting full support from the people of Ambala. MLA Aseem Goyal has worked a lot for the developments, but now we have our mayoral candidate to give more worth to those development works at the grassroots level so that the Ambala residents can get rid of every small problem," Kataria said.
Speaking about, Geeta Rani whose nomination was rejected, Kataria said," This matter has just come to my notice and the strategy will be decided by the local unit. It will decide which opposition party will be compromised in ward number 11, from where Geeta was supposed to stand in the election."
"Farmers are our ''annadata'', they are our God. They have made us self-sufficient, there is no question of any fight with them. Law and order is a different issue and it is the duty of the government to maintain it," he said.
"The farmers have been on the roads for several weeks demanding the repeal of the farm laws but I would like to say that farmers should talk to the government and withdraw this movement," he added.
