It was found out during ETV Bharat's interaction with DCP Panchkula, Mohit Handa that earlier cybercriminals used to hack into a company's system or account and withdraw money from it, on contrary now the hackers are also eyeing people's personal laptops and computers. Criminal cases related to global cybercrime are constantly changing in nature, said Handa.
The way in which crimes are committed has also changed. Many cases are reported in which a hacker creates a fake profile of a person and sends objectionable messages from the account. Then they blackmail the victims and grab money from them.
More cases of mobile application
Currently, e-frauds are also coming into fore, such as stealing money from mobile applications like Paytm, Phone-Pe. According to DCP Panchkula Mohit Handa, the most accurate and effective way to prevent any kind of cybercrime is increasing awareness and alertness among consumers. In the absence of information, consumers become victims of hackers. Apart from this, hackers are also using computer viruses to hack computers.

How does Haryana police work against global cybercrime?
For the last few years, Haryana Police has been preparing itself to deal with hackers. In Madhuban Academy of Karnal, Haryana Police personnel are given training to deal with global cybercrime cases.
If there is a complicated case of fraud, then help from outside IT experts is taken. Police personnel are also trained by those IT experts so that they can stay up-to-date. The DCP said that all the new cyber crime cases that are happening in the present times are of global nature.
