Rohtak: A recent surge in Coronavirus cases and deaths in Haryana has sparked fears of a second wave in the state. The state has reported as many as 40 deaths in a span of five days, of which 24 were reported in the last 24 hours.
According to health department reports, within four days, 101 people have died due to this virus. Three patients died in Gurugram, two in Faridabad, ten in Hisar, one in Karnal, three in Panipat, four in Rewari, one in Sirsa, one in Jhajjar and two in Fatehabad.
With this, 2688 new patients have been found in the state in the last 24 hours, while 2115 patients have also been cured.
Health Minister Anil Vij admits that there's been a sudden spurt in coronavirus cases over the past five days. The number had dropped down to one or two cases per day towards the last week of October.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister has appealed to the people to take all necessary precautions as winters could further increase the chances of infection. Three main ways suggested are social distancing, hand hygiene and use of face masks at public places.
The number of active cases in the state stands at 19,538. As many as 1,76,368 patients have been discharged after treatment, while the recovery rate is at 89.11 per cent.
