Surat: Ram temple under construction in Ayodhya will resonate during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Surat. While one would get enamoured by the dexterity of the Ram temple's model, it will be interesting to find that it was eight Muslim artisans' hands that built the Ram temple model. Ganesh Pandal which devotees adore will include the model and Ganesh, Ram idols will be built inside it.
It was the toil and labour of these eight Muslim artisans in Surat that led to the fruition of the Ram temple frame with 176 pillars and 20 domes using thermocol sheet. The team of artisans led by 27-year-old Aslam Feroze Sheikh include Akhil, Tousif, Ahezanz, Irfan, Adil, Imtiaz and Sultan. Apart from that, Dewang Mistry, Harsh Patel, Ravi Baria and Ravi Patel and four youths are also involved in the work done by Adajan Garden Group in Surat. The temple model will tower at 15-feet height and 15-feet width.
Harsh Mehta of Garden Group said, "Ram Mandir is a symbol of the nation. We are constructing this structure with the help of the Muslim brotherhood to show the values of unity and harmony." It will send a message that India is one and people live in peace here, he said.
Aslam, artisan, said, "it is very difficult to build an exact model of Ram temple. However, we are trying to make the people experience the Ram temple when they come to visit." People spread rumours but people of all religions are one and live in brotherhood, he added.
