Viral chat inciting rape not part of Bois Locker Room, girl made fake profile: Police

The Delhi Police's investigation has revealed that the screenshot inciting rape is not part of the widely shared Bois Locker Room group chats instead, the chat was done on Snapchat by a minor girl through a fake profile.

New Dellhi: An investigation into the Bois Locke Room case has revealed that one of the viral chats was done on Snapchat by a minor girl through a fake profile.

The Delhi Police's investigation has revealed that the Snapchat screenshot inciting rape is not part of the widely shared Bois Locker Room group chats. Instead, it was the result of a girl trying to take a 'character test' of her male friend.

Talking on this, DCP Anyesh Roy said, "Among the various screenshots shared on multiple social media platforms, is a screenshot of a one-to-one Snapchat conversation, where a person named 'Siddharth' is suggesting a plan of sexual assault of a girl to the other person."

He further said that the investigation has revealed that the alleged Snapchat conversation is, in fact, between a girl who is sending those texts to a boy by using the fake male profile.

It is to be noted that the chatroom, exposed on May 3 by a girl targeted in the grisly group chats, has drawn massive anger, shock and disgust on social media. Class 11 and 12 students casually discussed "gang-raping" girls, sexualized and slut-shamed them in screenshots of chats that have gone viral on Twitter and other social media forums.
