New Delhi: Locket Chatterjee, the BJP MP from Hooghly on Tuesday put an allegation against the TMC leaders of West Bengal that they are taking cut-money from people.

The MP said that she rose this issue on the Zero Hour in Lok Sabha.

"TMC leaders get habituated to take cut-money from people. The problem is that the Chief Minister of West Bengal has accepted that her party leaders take it. TMC leaders from lower to upper level are taking the money", said Chatterjee.

She claimed that the Chief Minister had said to her party leaders to keep the 25% amount and give 75% to her(CM).

Chatterjee said that the issue of cut-money has become a raging issue in the state for the last few days, just after the Chief Minister reportedly issued a diktat in which she asked the party leaders to return the cut-money they had taken from people.

Meanwhile, the cut-money is an amount of money that is illegally charged by elected leaders to the grassroots functionaries at the panchayat and local bodies level from ordinary citizens in return for delivery of services.
