New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) has issued a notice to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday for violation of the Model Code of Conduct over his speech in Delhi's Karawal Nagar.
In the speech, Adityanath said that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was feeding biryani to Shaheen Bagh protesters.
According to reports, the Commission has received a report from Cheif electoral officer on February 4. After reviewing the total incident, Commission said that CM Adityanath has violated the clause (2) of Part-1 of the Model Code of Conduct.
The EC has also asked him to respond by 5:00 pm on Friday, failing which the Commission shall take a decision without any further reference to Adityanath.
