Women's day special: Animal lover builds park for the speechless

A woman, who runs a park in tribal Behluli area of Bastar, looks after several animals in the park including two horses. After the forest department gave her the responsibility to attract as many visitors to the park, she arranged two horses to enhance the park's beauty.

Basanti runs an amusement park, Lamini, spread across 3 hectares here. She lives near the park and has completed her BA. After the forest department gave her the responsibility to attract as many visitors to the park, she arranged two horses to enhance the park's beauty.

She also started riding the horses and gradually mastered the art. She has now started horse-riding for visitors in the park which has increased the footfall. Basanti formed a team of people staying near the forest to take care of the animals. She also took the responsibility to beautify and maintain the park.

While talking to ETV Bharat, Basanti says, "I want to become an inspiration for people through this work and get a good response from the visitors. I love animals and also want to spread the message of love and peaceful co-existence through this."

"The number of tourists has increased since she started taking care of the park. A bus station has started operating from the park and horse riding and watching other animals is the center of attraction here," said AK Baraggi, in-charge of Forest Department and Park.
