Mahasamund: With cities and town in the country almost getting digitalised, the gram panchayats here in Chhattisgarh have adopted broadband connection facility to access online services.
The villagers from the region earlier visited the district headquarters for official paperwork but now they can access facilities through Common Services Centre (CSC).
Speaking to ETV Bharat, CSC District project coordinator Shyama Sharma said: "Under the CSC Bharat net Campaign the gram panchayats of the Mahasamund and Bagbahara blocks in the Mahasamund districts have been connected with 100 per cent Broadband connectivity."
The locals of Lafin Khurd gram panchayat expressed happiness over the official work being digitalised.
According to the 2011 census report, 10.35 lakhs people reside in Mahasamund which consists of five blocks- Mahasamund, Bagbahara, Pithora, Basna and Saraipali.
These five blocks contain 551 gram panchayats and the people here were visiting government offices repeatedly for documentation purposes.
Under the Digital India scheme facilities of the payment in ration shops, registration in Anganbadi, and payment of school fees have been made online.
